The North Pennines is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Along with hills and moors there are rivers, waterfalls and rock faces. With such natural resources on the doorstep, it is only right we recommend kayaking, white water tubing, abseiling and gorge walking. We’ve teamed up with local providers to ensure you have a safe yet exhilarating adventure. Try out one, or more, of these activities to keep the adrenalin flowing during your stay with us!
The Dales are packed full of opportunities for tailored adventures. We can also put you in touch with organisations that love to offer adventure runs through rivers, mud and waterfalls, run bootcamps or take you on a Nordic walk! A favourite of ours is designing an adventure challenge which combines walking, navigation, quick-thinking and team games; making use of local resources and landscapes. Such days are fantastic for corporate teams, family outings, sports teams and for marking a special occasion.
The location of Fairfield House offers a vast number of walks from riverside strolls to serious hills. Local maps can be purchased from the Dales Centre in Stanhope. Alternatively, we can recommend a Nordic walking instructor to guide and help you make the most of your experience in the Dales.
Let us know if you are interested in any adventure and we’ll put you in touch with the right people or pull together a package ourselves. Adventures will always need to be arranged in advance and are subject to availability.
